Lest we forget

MIKE KERMODE

9 Nov 1946 - 7 Nov 2025

It is with great regret that we note the sudden passing of Mike Kermode, a popular and enthusiastic member of our group for more than 27 years.

Mike wasn't just another rider in the bunch - he was the spirit of the group, and his attitude reminded us why we ride in the first place - for friendship, for fun, for our health, and for the sheer love of the journey.

Ride on, Mike. The road ahead is smooth, the wind is at your back and your mates are just behind never forgetting all the great times we had together.

BERNIE HANDLEY

11 Dec 1953 - 12 Aug 2025

We note with sadness the passing of our long-suffering friend Bernie Handley.

Bernie was the first true 'athlete' to come into our group and raised the bar for the rest of us, although few, if any, ever attained his level. He also became famous as the designer of the worst jersey we ever had - seen proudly wearing it on this page.

A twenty year battle with cancer and MND was met with his usual steely determination, and despite all the compromises in his life he never complained, showing only his steadfast spirit.

We'll all miss you, Bernie, thanks for all the good times we shared.

GRAEME RIDDELL

21 Aug 1957 - 22 Feb 2013

With great regret we record the passing of our mate Graeme Riddell.

Always smiling and seemingly happy, we now know that Graeme had received a tough hand when his cards of life were dealt.

Most of us had no idea of his troubles until Jane alerted us to the situation one Friday morning a year ago. Since then his situation has been better on some days and worse on others, until his problems finally overwhelmed him completely.

Rest now in peace, Graeme, and know that we will all miss you.

A good friend - a great bloke.
